Welcome to the Ship Bottom Shellfish Restaurant
Since 1981, Ship Bottom Shellfish has been a family operated
restaurant under the ownership of Ginna and Bob Nugent. As children,
Ginna and Bob both summered on Long Beach Island, constantly
surrounded by seafood. Ginna’s father was a fisherman out of Viking
Village and owned Cassidy’s Fish Market in Barnegat Light, still run
within the family. Bob began as a local seafood distributer with one
thought in mind; to serve the freshest, highest quality seafood
available, prepared simply and at an honest price. Since starting with
a clam wholesale operation out of a small shack on the Causeway
near Cedar Bonnet Island in the 70’s, Ginna and Bob's fleet has
grown to four locations spread throughout Southern New Jersey.
Rooted in their combined experience with seafood, we can ensure the
freshest seafood.
Ship Bottom Shellfish is located on 18th Street in Ship Bottom, Long Beach Island and offers the freshest seafood available. We provide a casual dining atmosphere amidst a bustling seafood house. We initially opened as a primarily take-out eatery, but thirty years later, we have transformed into a family style dining restaurant with a full-scale fish market named after its hometown of Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island. Although specializing in shellfish, our extensive menu includes all varieties of seafood, as well as entrées for the land lovers.
